Daily's Premium Meats announced on Nov. 14 the appointment of Jeff Handrich as its next president effective December 6. The 30-plus year food industry veteran will be charged with leading the processed meats company and growing its food service, retail and international business.

Daily's, founded in 1893 by John R. Daily in Missoula, Montana, markets and sells a variety of premium processed pork items from signature honey cured bacon to applewood smoked bacon to naturally smoked hams to breakfast sausages. The company operates three bacon processing plants, including a new plant located in St. Joseph, Missouri, that opened in September 2016, along with two other bacon processing plants in Missoula and Salt Lake City.

Handrich said, "I'm excited about joining Daily's Premium Meats, and growing the business by building on its hallmark reputation of outstanding quality and customer service."

To accomplish this, Handrich will rely on more than 30 years of extensive food industry experience. Since 2015, he's been vice president of emerging markets, domestic and international, for Butterball, where he developed and executed strategic growth plans for the company's domestic and international markets.

Prior to that, he led Butterball's national account food service sales for eight years as vice president, and held similar positions with ConAgra, Pinahs Co. Inc, and Kraft/Oscar Mayer. Handrich started his food industry career as a food service sales representative with Kraft Foods after graduating from the University of Houston with a master's degree in business administration. He also holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin.
