Perdue Farms names Galgano chief financial officer

Brenda M. Galgano has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Perdue Farms, a leader in premium proteins and agricultural products, effective June 11.

Brenda M. Galgano has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Perdue Farms, a leader in premium proteins and agricultural products, effective June 11. She will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, as well as managing tax, internal audit, treasury, risk management and information technology. 

Galgano is an experienced financial leader with more than 20 years of diverse business experience, including serving as CFO of two large national retailers.  Most recently, Galgano served as executive vice president and CFO of The Vitamin Shoppe, a publicly traded retailer and manufacturer of vitamins, minerals and supplements.  Prior to that, Galgano was senior vice president, CFO and treasurer of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P), where she led finance functions as well as information technology.

Galgano began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she gained experience in roles of increasing responsibility in a variety of technical areas, including complex accounting issues, internal controls and operational efficiencies.  She has a bachelor of science degree in business administration in accounting and graduated magna cum laude from Bryant University.
