Zinpro names Dr. Laura Amundson basic metabolism researcher

Zinpro Corporation announces that Laura Amundson, Ph.D., has joined the company in a newly created position as basic metabolism researcher.

Zinpro Corporation announces that Laura Amundson, Ph.D., has joined the company in a newly created position as basic metabolism researcher. In this role, Dr. Amundson will join other members of the company’s Research and Nutritional Services (RNS) team to help identify, assess and develop new nutritional products that will improve wellness and performance for livestock, poultry, pet and other species.

“Laura will play a key role as we continue to expand our product innovation efforts across all our markets, and ultimately bring these products to our customers,” says Mike Socha, Ph.D., RNS associate director, Zinpro Corporation. “We are excited to add a researcher with Laura’s expertise and practical insight to our RNS product development team.”

A prolific researcher, Dr. Amundson has been an author or co-author of multiple peer-reviewed journal articles, peer-reviewed abstracts and non-refereed articles and conference proceedings. She earned her doctorate in animal science as well as bachelor’s degrees in both animal science and dairy science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Before joining Zinpro, Amundson worked as an assistant research scientist (monogastric nutrition) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Animal Sciences. In addition, she had worked as a post-doctoral research fellow (mammary physiology) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Dairy Science.
