Marfrig in talks to purchase poultry companies Seara, Doux
Company plans to buy Doux’s entire Brazilian and European operations.
Marfrig Alimentos SA has reportedly started discussions to buy Cargill Inc.-controlled firm Seara Alimentos SA and Doux Poultry Ltd., the Sao Paulo-based newspaper Valor Economico said, according to Bloomberg.
The company intends to buy Doux's entire Brazilian and European operations. Doux's turkey-processing unit was acquired by Marfrig in June.
Marfrig is being advised by Banco do Brasil SA and may be extended funds to purchase the firms, the report said.
None of the companies chose to comment on the developments.
