Topigs, SNW collaborate to breed Pietrain terminal sires

Topigs will coordinate the merged program.

European pig breeding organizations Topigs and SNW, which have collaborated on sow breeding since 2006, have extended their partnership by merging their programs for the breeding of Pietrain terminal sires.

Topigs will coordinate the merged program, with the Piétrain breeding activities of SNW falling under the responsibility of German organization TOPIGS-SNW. The partners will continue using the German TOP-Genetik test method of SNW and AI organization GFS.

German brand names SNWPiétrain and Top Pie are being retained. Topigs Talent and Tempo terminal boars are already offered as an alternative for German pig producers to meet changing market demands.
