Effective leadership, professional communication and mental health and wellness are all challenges that female professionals face in the workplace. USPOULTRY’s Women’s Leadership Conference will focus on topics to assist women leaders with these challenges and develop skills for becoming more successful leaders. The Conference, held Aug. 15-16 at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Destin, Florida, will include professional women from all levels of the industry who will provide their perspectives and insights on a variety of topics.

“To be an effective leader, you have to constantly pursue personal and professional development, which is one reason this annual conference exists – to give women the resources to become the leaders our industry needs. This year’s program offers topics on effective communication, interpersonal strength and mental clarity in order to cultivate and encourage successful leadership among peers,” remarked Patricia Hawkins, Mississippi live hatchery manager at Tyson Foods, and planning committee chairperson.

Session topics include: An Industry Overview and Why Your Role Matters in Feeding the World; What Should I Do Now? A Look into Critical Legal Issues Facing Today’s Working Women; Female Operations Leaders Ladders to Success; Eating for Mental Wellness; Light the Fire Within You; and Leading from the Inside Out. Thursday’s session will conclude with a bonfire on the beach.
