Jim Perdue speaks at women’s leadership conference

The 2009 Women’s Leadership Conference, sponsored by U.S. Poultry & Egg Association’s Poultry & Egg Institute, featured Perdue Farms CEO Jim Perdue. 

Perdue presented “A CEO’s Perspective of Women in Leadership Roles,” in which he encouraged women to aspire to leadership positions.

“Our company looks for leaders from various backgrounds, so we encourage the promotion of women,” said Perdue.

“Eileen Burza is senior vice president and chief financial officer. Cathy Klein is vice president of co-product sales and is a member of our leadership team. ... Four of our seven board members are women. I would like to see even more women in higher management positions . . . those who are successful and achieve results," he said.

Perdue also emphasized higher education and company-provided financial assistance.
