Latest poultry, egg market forecasts available in 2020 WATT Poultry Trends

WATT Global Media recently released the 2020 edition of World Poultry Trends.

WATT Global Media recently released the 2020 edition of the WATT Executive Guide to World Poultry Trends. This annual issue features data and analysis on production, consumption, trade and more for the global poultry meat and egg markets.

WATT Poultry Trends offers exclusive market reports and at-a-glance charts with data on trends and projections relating to industry sectors, countries and world regions. Along with each section in the guide is a listing of relevant, downloadable datasets.

World poultry meat production is forecast to reach 137 million metric tons in 2020, 2.4% more than in 2019 or just half the pace of growth in 2018. The overall slowdown in growth is attributed to animal diseases, COVID-19-related market disruptions and lingering droughts. Over the next 10 years, developing countries are expected to drive production and consumption in this market.

After reaching over 80 million metric tons in 2017, egg production worldwide fell slightly to nearly 77 million tons in 2018. However, global egg consumption continues to rise with the full impact of COVID-19 on pricing still pending. The largest contributors to egg production are China, the U.S., India and Mexico.

“Diets around the world continue to change, and the COVID-19 and African Swine Fever pandemics have made this shift even more drastic,” says Terrence O’Keefe, Content Director. “With WATT Poultry Trends, industry professionals can rely on data to plan for production challenges and opportunities into the new year.”

New for this year, the entire Poultry Trends report is available in a mobile-friendly format at www.PoultryTrends.com.
