Auburn University to build animal nutrition facility

$7 million facility will provide latest in feed science

Auburn University College of Agriculture in Alabama will be opening a $7 million feed mill and animal nutrition facility. Groundbreaking is slated for early 2010.

The feed mill and nutrition center will give scientists the technology and equipment to meet research needs, expand outreach efforts, provide students with hands-on training, enhance outreach and proprietary research programs and provide feed for the school's research and teaching animals.

Auburn University monies, in-kind equipment donations and private donations will fund the feed mill project. To date, about 15% of the funding has been secured.
