United Soybean Board elects executive committee

Former chairman of World Soy Foundation to head board

Phil Bradshaw, a soybean and hog farmer from Griggsville, Ill., was recently elected chairman of the United Soybean Board. He previously served as vice chairman. Bradshaw is the past chairman of the World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH), the World Soy Foundation, the Illinois Soybean Program Operating Board, the Illinois Pork Producers Association and the United States Animal Health Association.

Also on the executive committee are:

  • Marc Curtis of Mississippi, vice chairman
  • Todd Allen of Arkansas, secretary
  • Jim Stillman of Iowa, treasurer
  • Vanessa Kummer of North Dakota
  • Lewis Bainbridge of South Dakota
  • Marty Ross of Delaware
  • Jim Call of Minnesota
  • Vicki Coughlin of Wisconsin
  • Rick Stern of New Jersey

The United Soybean Board is made up of 68 farmers who oversee investments from the soybean checkoff on behalf of all U.S. soybean farmers. Checkoff funds are invested in animal utilization, human utilization, industrial utilization, industry relations, market access and supply.

The Illinois Soybean Association notes that both Bradshaw and Ron Kindred, the secretary of the American Soy Association, are Illinois farmers.
