Royal DSM releases ProAct 360

Royal DSM releases second-generation protease.

Royal DSM, a global science-based company focused on nutrition, health and sustainable living, has released its second-generation protease, ProAct 360, and it’s now available to poultry producers in the United States.

ProAct 360 sets a new market standard in protease technology for poultry on three key fronts: feed efficiency, affordability and sustainability. ProAct 360 offers faster protein breakdown, higher digestibility of all amino acids and better degradation of anti-nutritional factors—leading to an improved feed conversion ratio and higher cost savings. By efficiently utilizing protein in the small intestine, ProAct 360 can also reduce ammonia emissions.

Nelson Ward, PhD and DSM enzyme lead, says ProAct 360 helps feed producers to be more flexible in their selection and use of raw materials. “ProAct 360 will help reduce the industry’s reliance on soy and other major crops, while at the same time helping to cut feed costs,” said Ward. “Studies also indicate that using ProAct 360 provides more consistent improvements in growth performance, along with improved matrix values for key amino acids and faster action.”

Beyond the enhanced benefits of the new protease, DSM also offers a unique set of value-added digital services with the use of ProAct 360. These digital services, ranging from raw material analysis to a sustainability calculator, enable deeper insights and more informed decision-making for poultry operations.
