Butterball announces new appointments

Colglazier is director of quality further processing, Swan is complex manager for Mt. Olive plant

Turkey producer Butterball LLC announced the hiring of Anita Colglazier as director of quality further processing, responsible for quality and food safety at plants in Mt. Olive and Kinston, N.C.; Longmont, Colo.; and Jonesboro, Ark.

 Colglazier has worked in the food industry for more than 25 years, most recently as a manufacturing systems engineer. She graduated from Purdue University, where she majored in food science. She is a member of the Institute of Food Science, as well as the North Carolina Food Safety and Defense Task Force.

 Butterball also announced the appointment of Steve Swan as complex manager at its Mt. Olive, N.C., plant. In his new role, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the plant, which processes and packages retail, food service, deli and ready-to-eat turkey products.

Swan holds a bachelor of science degree with a minor in biology from Northern Illinois University. The Mt. Olive facility is the largest of Butterball’s processing facilities and was recently recognized as a Rising Star from the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration. This distinction designates worksites that have implemented exemplary standards for workplace health and safety in 18 areas of occupational safety.
