HSUS files complaint against Indiana hen farm

Rose Acre Farms denies allegations of neglect

The Human Society of the United States filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission alleging that claims made by Rose Acre Farms of Indiana are “misleading”.

In advertisements, Rose Acre Farms states that it provides a “humane and friendly” environment for hens. The company conforms to UEP standards with respect to shell eggs.

Recent allegations by HSUS based on unsubstantiated videos and statements by its agents claimed that Rose Acre Farms was negligent in management practices.

Rose Acre spokesman Brian Hendrix disputed the claims, noting that the company follows industry guidelines.
