Perdue Farms Inc. has added whole grain breaded chicken to its frozen product line. The new option provides consumers with convenience meals or snacks made with whole grain breading, including Whole Grain Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets, Whole Grain Breaded Chicken Breast Strips and Whole Grain Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders.
Each of these products features a stamp of approval by the Whole Grains Council, a nonprofit consumer advocacy group, indicating that each serving provides at least one half serving (or 8 grams) of whole grains. In addition, these products provide four grams of daily fiber per serving, according to Perdue.
