The first phase of Petersime’s expansion plans for its Zulte, Belgium, site is now complete as, last month, the company’s new production hall and logistics centre became fully operational.

Last year, the company decided to start a major expansion programme and acquired 22,000m2 of land next to the Zulte facilities. The expansion plan consists of several phases and includes the building of a new production hall, new logistics zones with loading docks, staff and meeting facilities and a new Customer Centre.

Along with the expansion, the current facilities are being modernized and investments in solar panels are also planned. The new and refurbished facilities are expected to be fully operational mid-2011.

Petersime managing director Paul Degraeve comments: “With the new production and logistics facilities we aim to ramp up the production output to double capacity. This high production capacity will allow us to keep on serving our customers on time.”
