Vietnam to receive international funding for 'Prevention of avian flu, human flu and pandemic prevention'

US$25 million in funding for the "Prevention of avian flu, human flu and pandemic prevention in Vietnam" project has been approved by the Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. The fund resources will come from the International Development Association of the World Bank (US$10 million), the Trust Fund for Avian Influenza Prevention and Human Influenza (US$13 million) and corresponding capital (US$2 million).

The fund resources will come from the International Development Association of the World Bank (US$10 million), the Trust Fund for Avian Influenza Prevention and Human Influenza (US$13 million) and corresponding capital (US$2 million).

The long-term project is expected to take place through 2013. Eleven cities and provinces, including Hanoi; the northern provinces of Lang Son, Thai Binh and Thanh Hoa; the central provinces of  Ha Tinh, Thua Thien Hue and Binh Dinh; and the southern provinces of Tay Ninh, Long An, Tien Giang and Dong Thap will be subjects of the project.
