During the 2017 Fall Festival, Iowa Poultry Association declared the launch of the IPA Emerging Leader Program.

During the 2017 Fall Festival, Iowa Poultry Association declared the launch of the IPA Emerging Leader Program. In the announcement, Executive Director Kevin Stiles stated, "the goal of the Emerging Leader Program is to aid in building individuals that might more effectively contribute to the future of the poultry industry through growth in their own personal careers."

The Emerging Leader Program hopes to accomplish this goal through providing targeted growth and development opportunities for professional development. These opportunities will be focused on meeting the needs of people early in their careers or new to our industry. The program platform provides the industry and its participants an opportunity to:

  • Contribute to building stronger professionals for poultry employers
  • Enhance industry awareness, knowledge and participation
  • Foster the development of a network of Iowa and US poultry industry peers and professionals
  • Achieve an Award of Recognition for dedication to professional growth

Applicants do need to be an established leader in the Iowa poultry industry. The Emerging Leaders Program is a way to help advance leadership skills and industry knowledge leading to increased contributions in your company, and eventually state, and national egg or poultry industry. Applicants should be 21 years old as of the Nov. 1 application deadline.
