The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), in collaboration with the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil), will carry out activities to promote the quality of Brazilian pork and chicken meat in Moscow until June 30 during the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018.
In total, there will be 45 points scattered throughout the Russian capital with advertising banners that highlight the quality of Brazilian products, along with messages that correlate the Brazilian tradition in soccer and the production of animal protein.
“In addition to promoting the approach with thousands of tourists and Russian citizens, the ABPA advertising will further strengthen the image of Brazil's chicken and pork. Our country works according to the quality and sanitary principles of its more than 160 importing markets. To stand out in one of the biggest events in the world is a unique opportunity to strengthen the quality of Brazil's pork and chicken meat in Russia and other countries,” said Ricardo Santin, executive director of ABPA.
Since November of last year, Russia, which until then was the largest importer, suspended Brazilian pork imports. In 2017, about 260,000 tons of pork were shipped to Russia, for a total of US$693 million. As for chicken meat, the volume of exports in 2017 to the host country of the World Cup was 83,000 tons and an accumulated amount of US$126.8 million. Brazil is working to resume shipments to Russia and wants these activities to reinforce the image and quality of Brazilian chicken and pork meat.
