Five people were recently recognized with the Peter Myers Distinguished Service Award during the annual Missouri Agribusiness Association (MO-AG) banquet.
Among the recipients were:
- Jo Manhart, the director of the Missouri Egg Council in Columbia. She has worked for the council for the past 44 years, speaking internationally and doing television demonstrations, University of Missouri animal science classes and writing articles throughout Missouri on her favorite topic: The Incredible, Edible Egg.
- Gary Marshall, CEO of the Missouri Corn Growers Association and the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in agricultural economics, Marshall and his wife Kim reside in Jefferson City.
- State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown. He was presented with the award based on his years not only in the Legislature, but his time chairing the Missouri Senate Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources Committee, and for the legislation he has sponsored and passed on behalf of farmers throughout the Show-Me State.
- Keith Dietzschold, the Northwest District Supervisor for Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources in the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. He also serves as the Missouri FFA Executive Secretary. Keith and his wife, Linda, have two grown children and reside on a small farm in Chillicothe.
- Jim McCann, who currently serves on the United States Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, and is coordinator for the Southwest Missouri Cattlemen’s pilot program, MO Beef for MO Kids. McCann and his family run a diversified cattle farm near Miller, which is primarily a stocker and cow calf enterprise.
