Chris Langholz was terminated from his position as Tyson Foods’ international group president, effective August 26, 2022.
The personnel action was announced in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and can be found on a Form 8-K on the Tyson Foods investor relations webpage. The filing did not offer an explanation for the termination.
Langholz, according to his LinkedIn profile, joined Tyson Foods to lead the international business operations in November 2019. Since Langholz joined Tyson, the company announced plans to grow its presence globally, specifically by investing in new plants in China, Thailand and the Netherlands.
Describing the goals of Tyson’s international business during the Tyson Foods Virtual Investor Day in December 2021, Lanngholz said: “Our aspiration for our international business is simple: To drive profitable growth in key demand markets with locally relevant products, enabled through supply chain to service customers.”
During his tenure, Tyson Foods also acquired a 49% stake in the Malaysia-based Malayan Flour Berhard’s vertically integrated poultry business. It also announced plans to invest in Saudi Arabia’s Tanmiah Food Company.
Langholz previously was a leader for Cargill
Prior to joining Tyson Foods, Langholz spent nearly a quarter of a century with Cargill, most recently serving as the president of Cargill Asia Pacific. Before that, he also worked as Cargill’s international protein group president, group president of Cargill’s international poultry business, and president of Cargill’s animal nutrition China business unit.
Growth initiatives that occurred during Langholz’ time as Cargill’s international protein group president included the acquisition of Polish poultry company Konspol, and the formation of Avara Foods, which was a joint venture in the United Kingdom between Cargill and Faccenda Foods.
