Poultry to comprise 40% global meat production in 2023

Global poultry meat production continues to outpace production of other meat sources, such as pork, beef and sheep, and will exceed 139 million metric tons (mt) in 2023, an increase of almost 3% compared to 2022, according to data projections published in July from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) (Table 1).
