The Animal Agriculture Alliance is proud to welcome Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) and the North American Meat Institute to its Board of Directors. These two organizations join a diverse group of board members representing all major segments of animal agriculture. The Alliance’s Board of Directors is listed on its website.

DMI will be represented by Rex Martin, senior vice president of owner relations. Janet Riley, senior vice president of public affairs, will represent the Meat Institute. Both organizations were present at the Alliance’s fall board meeting on Dec. 1 in Washington, D.C.

“We are proud to have DMI and Meat Institute joining our board,” said Kay Johnson Smith, president and CEO of the Alliance. “Rex and Janet both bring considerable experience and expertise to the table, and we will benefit greatly from their leadership.”

New officers and appointments

Dallas Hockman, National Pork Producers Council, has joined the executive committee. NPPC has been on the Alliance board for 28 years and represented by Hockman for 6 years.

Sarah Novak, American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), is a new member of the executive committee. AFIA has served on the board since its inception, and Novak has been its representative since 2009.

Joel Brandenberger, National Turkey Federation, was elected to serve as Alliance treasurer. Brandenberger has been involved with the Alliance board for 23 years.

“As we reflect this week on what we are thankful for, the Alliance team certainly thinks of our board members and executive committee,” said Smith. “Without their time, talents and guidance, we would not be able to live up to our mission of bridging the communication gap between farm and fork.”
