Total egg stocks show increase

Total frozen egg stocks in storage as of Feb. 29 were 6 percent higher than previous-year levels, according last month’s USDA Cold Storage report.

Frozen egg whites in storage, meanwhile, were 4 percent below year earlier levels, with egg yolks 14 percent lower.

Whole and mixed frozen eggs were 5 percent above 2007 levels, however, with unclassified egg stocks 16 percent higher than previous-year levels.

Compared to previous-month levels, total egg stocks were down 7 percent.
