Owing to declining turkey sales in Canada, the national agency, Turkey Farmers of Canada, is requiring production be cut by an average of 6% across all weight categories, according to an article from Better Farming.
Canada’s 548 turkey producers generated 179 million kilograms of product with a farm-gate value of $388.5 million last year.
Cuts in quota vary between 4.75% to 8.75% depending on weight category.
