Chinese, Taiwanese pork producers observe U.S. practices

Managers aiming to gain a better perspective of hog practices and disease control.

Two teams of swine managers from China and Taiwan were sponsored by the U.S. Grains Council to attend the 2009 World Pork Expo.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey said that by coming to the U.S. the managers are gaining a better perspective of hog practices and disease control to combat low production efficiency of swine operations in their countries.

The pork producers will also tour several U.S swine farms.
