World Pork Expo in the USA has confirmed that it will have dates of 3rd-5th June in 2009, meaning the show changes from its existing Thursday-to-Saturday format to opening on a Wednesday and ending on a Friday. Then as in 2008, its venue is the Iowa Stateground in Des Moines, Iowa. This year’s show is the 20th anniversary edition and has dates of 5th-7th June.
A national conference exploring ways to reduce odour emissions from animal feeding operations will be held 19-21 May in Des Moines. The conference, ‘Mitigating Air Emissions from Animal Feeding Operations’, is being co-coordinated by Iowa State University’s college of agriculture and university extension.
VIV Europe/Moscow Edition is to include a financial seminar for the meat industry, held with credit management services provider Coface. This seminar will take place on 28th May during the trade fair set for the Russian capital on 27th-29th May. The fair has 250 international companies exhibiting from 36 countries and an increase in the number of Russian participants to about 110 companies. Spain, France and Canada feature country pavilions.
Rome will be the location for the first World Meat Conference and Exhibition, announced for the Italian capital on dates of 19th-22nd September 2008.
