KOGID Cambodia plans to buy 70,000 metric tons of red corn

Equal to about 10% of Cambodia’s crop

The Cambodian division of Korea Overseas Grain Investment and Development Co. Ltd. (KOGID) plans to purchase 70,000 metric tons of red corn from Cambodian farmers in 2010, according to The Phnom Penh Post. That is equal to about 10% of the country's red corn crop and, if purchased at the 2009 price of US$105 per metric ton, would be worth US$7.35M. The corn will be used for animal feed.
