Egg Innovations has circulated an advertising video which is now available on You-Tube. The 30-second short depicts hens in a jail setting with a voice over of “nothing good happens in a cage.” This attempt at promoting cage-free products represents a low watermark in customer, consumer and industry relations and could be misleading.
In a competitive industry promoting product attributes, the differentiation from competitors is justified. Attempting to degrade the image of 95% of U.S. egg production will only cause more issues.
