Zoetis colleagues give back during the holidays

The holidays are a special time for Zoetis colleagues to make a difference in their communities. By spreading hope through volunteering, fundraising for important causes and sharing joy through gift giving, our colleagues put giving back at the center of the season.

Below are a few examples of Zoetis holiday initiatives that support the communities where we operate, one of our six corporate social responsibility pillars that you can read more about here.

Zoetis colleagues in Australia made a difference this holiday season through volunteering and donating products. Through a partnership with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and Mission Australia, Zoetis veterinarians provided checkups and care to those living with their animals at a social housing community. The support provided from Zoetis ensures that all pets in the community are cared for and micro-chipped. Additionally, Zoetis Australia partnered with PetRescue to donate thousands of doses of Revolution to shelter animals.

Zoetis Benelux colleagues came together to fundraise for “De Warmste Week” in support of Veterinarians without Frontiers, a charity that works to provide Ugandan families with goats. The team raised money by selling boxes of waffles and homemade snacks in the months leading up to the holidays. While the initiative is still ongoing, the team hopes to reach their goal of €2,500 to provide five herds of 10 goats. The inspiration for choosing this good cause came from the Zoetis A.L.P.H.A. Initiative, which is also active in Uganda.

In Brazil, colleagues embraced the true meaning of the holiday season by organizing a total of 154 gift donations for children in need. Participants arranged gift packages for each child that included clothes, toys, candy and a hygiene kit with toothpaste, a toothbrush, and soap.

Zoetis Canada colleagues made a positive impact in their community by donating food to West Island Mission, a charity that provides well-balanced, high quality food assistance to the less fortunate living in the West Island of Montreal.  Some colleagues went the extra mile to make sure those in need would have enough food for the holidays. They volunteered to help West Island Mission with registrations and spent a day assembling Christmas food baskets, which were delivered in the community.

In the United States, the Kalamazoo, Mich. Veterinary Medical Research and Development (VMRD) team held a Bright Holidays event, which supports three different local agencies: Comstock Community Center, Gull Lake Community Center, and Family & Children Services of Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Each organization provides Zoetis with a list of children with a suggested gift wish list.  Colleagues provide gifts by selecting one or more child and fulfilling a wish from their list. This year, Kalamazoo colleagues are helping make a Bright Holiday for 143 children from 65 local families!

The Exton, Pa. and Parsippany, NJ locations in the U.S. also held toy drives for Toys for Tots, and Parsippany colleagues donated supplies to FOWA Rescue to support foster families with everything they need to care for homeless animals.
