Christoffer Lorenzen has been appointed to Chr. Hansen's executive board.

Lorenzen, 42, is executive vice president (EVP) of Chr. Hansen’s largest business unit, Food Cultures & Enzymes. He joined Chr. Hansen in March 2008 and has held various positions in sales and marketing, including director of marketing in the Animal Health & Nutrition Business, and vice president of Central & Eastern Europe. In 2013, he was appointed senior vice president of commercial development in the Cultures & Enzymes Division and, in 2016, he was appointed EVP of the Food Cultures and Enzymes Business Unit.

Prior to joining Chr. Hansen, Lorenzen was employed at H. Lundbeck A/S, a global specialty pharmaceutical company, where he served as head of corporate strategy and M&A as well as corporate secretary.

Lorenzen holds a Master in Business (Marketing) from the Copenhagen Business School.

“The appointment of Christoffer Lorenzen to the executive board of Chr. Hansen had been planned already before the announcement of Cees de Jong stepping back, as FC&E has normally always been represented at the executive board,” said Ole Andersen, chairman of Chr. Hansen.

CEO Cees de Jong said: “Christoffer has been with Chr. Hansen for the past 10 years and has a deep knowledge and understanding of the company, its history and its potential. By joining, Christoffer adds core knowledge and expertise to the executive board.”

The company strategy, priorities and financial guidance remain the same.

As of February 1, the executive board consists of: CEO Cees de Jong, CFO Søren Westh Lonning, CSO Thomas Schäfer, and EVP Christoffer Lorenzen. The executive board is appointed by the board of directors and is, together with their colleagues in the corporate leadership team, responsible for day-to-day management and compliance with the guidelines and directions given by the board of directors.
