Stewart Glendinning, the former executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of Tyson Foods who was reassigned as the president of Tyson’s Prepared Foods Group, has resigned.

According to a securities filing that can be found on the Tyson Foods investor relations webpage, Glendinning, on September 5, notified the company of his resignation, effective September 14.

A Tyson Foods spokesperson issued the following statement: "We are grateful for Stewart’s contributions throughout his time at Tyson Foods, including serving as Tyson’s Chief Financial Officer and President of Prepared Foods. We wish him continued success in his new role. Prepared Foods continues to be a key growth pillar for Tyson Foods and we have a great team supporting it.”

Glendinning joined Tyson in February 2018 as the CFO, after a 13-year career with Molson Coors Brewing Company, where he served in various leadership capacities, including CFO, UK; global CFO, president & CEO, UK; president & CEO, Canada; and president and CFO, International.

After Glendinning served as Tyson’s CFO for more than four years, Tyson Foods announced a reassignment of members of the company’s leadership team, in which Glendinning was named to lead Tyson’s Prepared Foods Group.

At the time, Tyson Foods CEO Donnie King said: “Stewart has the financial and operational background, as well as the proven organizational management skills needed to help unlock the full potential of our iconic consumer brands within Tyson’s Prepared Foods business.”

In that same announcement, Tyson revealed that its chief sustainability officer, John R. Tyson, would succeed Glendinning as CFO. John R. Tyson is the son of Tyson Foods Chairman John H. Tyson.

It was also announced at the time that Glendinning’s predecessor as Prepared Foods group president, Noelle O’Mara, was leaving Tyson Foods “to pursue other opportunities.” Her most recent work experience listed on her LinkedIn profile remains her stint with Tyson Foods.

Prior to his work with Molson Coors, Glendinning served in senior financial positions with The Hackett Group and KPMG. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of William and Mary and a law degree from the University of Miami. He is on the board of North West Company and has served with various organizations within the U.S. Naval Reserve.
