In 2023, the exports of Russian meat and poultry producer Cherkizovo Group, exceeded 110,000 metric tons.

In monetary terms, export sales rose by 15%. The increase in exports is mainly attributable to the company’s expansion in the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Chicken exports

According to the preliminary results for 2023, those 110,000 metric tons of products involved different categories, but chicken accounted for the bulk of the exported volume, making up over 80,000 metric tons.

During the past year, international shipments of chicken went up by 8% driven primarily by an increase in exports to the EAEU markets (with shipments to these countries growing by more 30%). The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) nations accounted for more than 50% of total chicken exports: for example, shipments to Uzbekistan more than doubled over the year.

Pork and sausage exports

Cherkizovo Group significantly increased pork exports to certain CIS countries. For example, pork shipments to Belarus and Armenia grew almost fivefold compared to 2022. Turkey exports saw the greatest increases in the markets of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, rising fivefold and twofold, respectively.

Cherkizovo Group also delivered significant growth in sausage exports, with international shipments rising by almost 10% year-on-year.

The company's overall export revenue went up by 15%.

China, Kazakhstan and other EAEU countries continue to be key export markets for Cherkizovo Group. The Middle East is another high-potential market for the company's exports.

"We are pleased with our export performance in 2023. The company expanded its customer base in both Southeast Asia and the CIS by securing a stable supply of products to these regions. For example, we significantly stepped up distribution in the retail channel by promoting the Cherkizovo, Latifa, Pava-Pava, and Dajajti brands. Last year, we also expanded our export offering through oil, fat and non-food products accumulated as by-products at our manufacturing facilities," commented Elena Volgusheva, exports director at Cherkizovo Trade House.
