JBS begins construction of lab-grown meat R&D center

The facility will be the largest lab-grown meat research center in Brazil and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

Since announcing its intention to step into the cultivated protein industry, Brazil’s JBS has begun construction on the JBS Biotech Innovation Center, a food biotechnology research center that will focus on cultivated, or lab-grown, meat.
