Kentucky ag college inducts Alltech founder into hall of fame

The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture Department of Animal and Food Sciences has inducted Alltech founder and CEO Dr. Pearse Lyons into its hall of fame for his contributions to the department and to Kentucky animal agriculture. Lyons, who founded Alltech in 1980, is widely recognized as an entrepreneur and industry leader.

The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture Department of Animal and Food Sciences has inducted Alltech founder and CEO Dr. Pearse Lyons into its hall of fame for his contributions to the department and to Kentucky animal agriculture.

Lyons, who founded Alltech in 1980, is widely recognized as an entrepreneur and industry leader. His nominator said Lyons is a strong supporter of the UK Department of Animal and Food Sciences, and that through his efforts, the Alltech/UK Nutrition Research Alliance and the Alltech/UK Center for Nutrigenomics were created. Additionally, more than 55 Ph.D. students at the University of Kentucky have been supported by Alltech.
