Russia’s grain exports increased 32 percent in 2011, to 18.3 million metric tons, according to the country's Federal State Statistics Service Rosstat.

Russia used 87.6 million tons of grain in 2011, 12 percent more than in 2010, according to Rosstat. This number included 10.7 million metric tons of seeds for sowing, 4.9 percent more than in 2010; 10.7 million metric tons of grains for animal feed, 4 percent more than in 2010; and 47.9 million metric tons of grains refined for the food industry and animal feed, 9 percent more than in 2010.
