Brazil's corn crop reached 72.7 million metric tons in the 2011–2012 season, up from 57.4 million metric tons in the previous year and mostly on par with the 72.8 million metric tons predicted on August 9, according to the country's Agriculture Ministry.
The soybean crop dropped from 75.3 million metric tons in the 2010–2011 crop year to 66.4 million metric tons in the 2011–2012 crop year.
