DLG appoints new managing director of exhibitions

Frankfurt am Main-based DLG and DLG Service GmbH has announced the appointment of Peter Grothues as managing director of the exhibitions department. Grothues has over 20 years of experience in the world of exhibitions.

Frankfurt am Main-based DLG and DLG Service GmbH has announced the appointment of Peter Grothues as managing director of the exhibitions department.

Grothues has over 20 years of experience in the world of exhibitions. After graduating, he worked in various roles at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Small Industries and Skilled Trades and with exhibition company Handwerk Nordrhein-Westfalen before joining Kölnmesse in 1995. He took charge of various events for the company as project manager and product manager until 2004, when he became business unit head.

From then until 2012, he had final responsibility for the success of the company’s portfolio of trade fairs for the food and beverage, food and drink technology and environmental technology sectors both at home and abroad. These included Anuga, Anuga FoodTec (international trade show for suppliers of food and beverage manufacturing equipment) and ISM (the world’s largest confectionery exhibition), as well as Sweets China, World of Food Asia and other events in Asia and the Middle East.

The DLG is the exhibitor of EuroTier 2012, which will be held November 13–16, in Hanover, Germany.
