Yvan Dejaegher, general director BEMEFA, a feed manufacturing association, has been elected president of Ovocom. Ovocom is a nonprofit consultation organization for feed producers. He succeeds Kathleen Spenik, who was president for the last three years.

Established in 2001 and a founding member, BEMEFA has been deeply involved in the functioning of Ovocom. Dejaegher has, since 2001, been a member of the executive committee. For the last three years, Dejaegher has served as vice president.

In addition to BEMEFA, Dejaegher has been chairman of the Feed Design Lab, member of the board of directors for the Center of Expertise on Antimicrobial Consumption and Resistance in Animals. In 2010 he won the De Molenaar Award.

"For the next three years, I intend to work primarily on strengthening the national and international cooperation between the good manufacturing practices standard and other existing quality systems," Dejaegher said.
