New GCCA director of government affairs

Former deputy assistant secretary for congressional relations at the USDA named as director

The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) has undertaken a new government affairs initiative to better represent members’ needs and work more effectively with federal and state governments, according to a company press release.

To this end, Lowell Randel, formerly the deputy assistant secretary for congressional relations at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), has been named the new GCCA director of government affairs.

“We have always strived to help members manage legal and compliance issues,” said GCCA President and CEO Bill Hudson in the release. “But the growing impact of federal and state laws and regulations demanded that we acquire a professional of Lowell’s caliber to help protect members and the cold chain industry at large.”
