The U.K.’s Salisbury Poultry has submitted proposals to turn a former cheese-packing plant in Marchwiel, Wrexham, into a poultry processing plant. The application notes that the transformed site could have a daily processing capacity of 122 tons, and employ 150 staff. If approved, the plant could be operational by the end of 2015.
Bilston-based Salisbury Poultry produces fresh and frozen poultry products, including bespoke hand-finished products, deboned portions, breast fillets, thigh meat and supremes. The company operates from three modern sites, with 400 employees. Turnover this year is expected to be in excess of GBP60 million (US$97 million).
