Brazil's average broiler saleable weight breakdown

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, IBGE, recently released the evaluation of the average saleable weight for the Brazilian broiler for the first half of 2011, which accounted the number of birds heads slaughtered by state and the corresponding meat tonnage produce in each one. From the evaluation, the heaviest saleable weight was found to be in Alagoas state, Northeast Brazil, 2.472 kg (5.469 lbs), while the lightest one was found to be in Rio Grande do Sul state, Southern Brazil, 1.906 kg (4.217 lbs).
