Brazilian chicken meat production will reach 13.08 million metric tons in 2011, a 6.9% rise compared to 2010, according to the latest, end-of-the-year evaluation by the Brazilian Poultry Producers and Exporters Association, UBABEF.

As per the evaluation, 69.9% by volume or 9.14 million metric tons must be consumed domestically, representing an 8.3% rise compared to 2010, while 30.1% by volume or 3.937 million metric tons must be exported, a 2.7% rise compared to the year before.

According to the association, the income growth, which leads to an immediate increase in animal protein consumption, has been the main domestic consumption growth's driver.
