Feed costs force closing of Vietnam catfish breeders

Rising feed prices have forced more than 30% of catfish breeders in Vietnam's Cuu Long delta to shut their businesses, Vietnam News quoted Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers in a report.

Pig and poultry breeders also suffered losses for the same reason.

Experts said livestock breeders had expanded production by 15-20% in 2008, while the area for catfish and shrimp breeding in the delta reduced sharply.
