With the export of Danish piglets to Germany increasing 40% in the first four months this year, exports of Danish pig meat are expected to fall.
German meat exports increased 18% in volume in the first quarter of this year. Last year, over 40% of pig meat exported by Westfleisch hit record sales of over $2.8 million (£1.7 million).
Spain exports 1.3 million metric tons of pork a year, which is about 36% of the country's production. Last year, its exports increased 25%.
