EuroTier, the world’s leading trade fair for animal production, will take place in Hanover, Germany, November 13-16.

EuroTier is the only international exhibition for animal producers to include all livestock sectors – cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry (the World Poultry Show returns in 2020) and aquaculture. The topics featured at the trade fair include breeding stock, breeding programs and reproduction technology; feed production and storage; animal housing, including controlled-environment technology; machinery and equipment for animal husbandry and feeding; milking equipment and milk storage systems; machinery and equipment for storing and handling solid and liquid manure; and advisory, management and consultancy services.

Digitization and innovation

Digitization in livestock farming is becoming increasingly important and will be a central focus of EuroTier 2018. The event has already established itself as an important platform for the introduction of innovations, and the EuroTier Innovation Awards are given to the best of these. In 2016, an independent expert committee appointed by DLG (German Agricultural Society) evaluated 251 entries and selected four products worthy of gold medals, with a further 21 taking silver medals.

With developments like these on display, EuroTier is at the forefront of precision animal production and provides the perfect opportunity for visitors to compare different solutions side-by-side.

“The majority of those visiting EuroTier either influence or control investment decisions, and they value the opportunity the fair provides to thoroughly research a topic before making a purchase,” said EuroTier Project Manager Dr. Karl Schlösser. “Digitization is of growing importance, as demonstrated by the silver medal-winning sensor systems that monitor water quality, air quality and feed quality that were exhibited in 2016, and visitors to EuroTier 2018 will be looking closely at how the technology relevant to their particular livestock enterprise is developing.”

Other events at EuroTier

EuroTier 2018 will also provide the world’s most important forum looking at the future of professional animal husbandry. Together with partners from industry, academia, consultancy, and associations and organizations, the DLG will once again present an extensive technical program to complement the offerings of the exhibitors. This will include international conferences and events on current trends and important developments in the industry.

Germany’s Federal Association of Veterinarians will once again hold its annual congress at Hanover Exhibition Centre. With more than 2,000 veterinarians and the associated trade fair, “Veterinary Medicine,” the event will overlap with EuroTier 2018.

The trade fair will also feature EnergyDecentral 2018, a unique international meeting place that presents solutions for the entire value chain of innovative energy supply and is closely aligned to farming and livestock production. Separate exhibition halls will host the breadth of technological developments in the field of bioenergy, regenerative energy and the technology and concepts relating to decentralized energy. The BIOGAS Convention of the Biogas Association will take place within EnergyDecentral in 2018.
