South Korea exports pork to Japan

Longtime pork import ban lifted

The South Korean government announced Sept. 20 that pig meat and processed pork products from Cheju Island and two inland factories will be sold to Japan this month or early October, Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency reported.

Due to hog plague outbreaks in 2000, Japan suspended the imports of pork and pork products from South Korea, said the report.
