According to reports, an Iowa meatpacking plant was sold to Agri Star Meat and Poultry in August.
Changes since new management has been in place include a building renovation, production method changes and the addition of 60 new employees. There are plans hire 200 to 300 more employees as the company expands.
The meatpacking plant was formerly known as Rubashkin, which was caught up in an illegal worker scandal in 2008.
