Simmons is excited to welcome over 30 collegiate interns this summer. The energy and enthusiasm these interns bring supports creativity and strengthens departments across the enterprise. Students gain valuable exposure to the food industry while they contribute to departmental and company-wide projects throughout the summer.
To ensure health and safety in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s program has gone virtual. In times of crisis there are new opportunities for learning and innovation. Finding a way to adapt the program, so the students and the company could still benefit from the valuable collaboration that happens each year was a priority for Simmons.
With the help of technology, the virtual internship program will allow students to hear from and interact with senior leadership and other team members. Each year, the program creates a foundation to develop lasting relationships and add some of the best and the brightest to our future team to produce food for families and pets we love.
