Broiler egg sets are trending below 2019 levels, signaling that the industry is cautious toward growth in a challenging year. 

In a WATT Poultry Chat interview, Mark Jordan, executive director of LEAP Market Analytics, reviewed trends for broiler egg sets, chicks per layer and overall ready-to-cook broiler production. His analysis indicates production will stay close to or slightly below year ago levels.

This could lead to a tighter supply environment and could potentially support chicken meat prices.
