Owner of Giroux’s Poultry Farm dies at age 82

Roger Giroux, 82, owner of Giroux’s Poultry Farm, died December 5, 2020.

Giroux was corn in Chazy, New York, on March 7, 1938, to Wilfred and Corine (Guay) Giroux. He was a lifelong farmer and owner of egg producer Giroux’s Poultry Farm. He was a past member of Chazy Youth Hockey, Chazy School Board and of the Town of Chazy Planning Board.

Giroux is survived by his longtime companion, Judy Baksi; two sons, Craig (Barbara) Giroux and Wilfred (Denise Sharon) Giroux; two sisters, Marguerite Collins and Pauline Fisher; 10 grandchildren, Helen (Chris) Taylor, Corine (Matt) Eisner, Brett, Cameron, Ely, Clara, Ethan and Gabriel Giroux, Matthew and Alex Sharon; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores; and siblings, Sarto, Leo, Paula, Royal Giroux and Marie Labine.

Due to COVID-19, the family will celebrate a private mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a burial in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chazy Youth Hockey or St. Anne’s Shrine, Isle La Motte, Vermont.
